Kottur Sri Angala Parameswari Amman incarnates itself under a tree in the present place where temple is located some 350 years ago. Later on a small Temple was built by the devotees in the 1950. In January 2001 Kottur Arulmigu Angalaparameswari Seva Trust was formed and since then the temple has gone through major changes and in Aug 2002, the Kumbhashakam was done. The Temple totally rebuilt at a  cost of 1.5 Crore and Kumbhavagam was done on 28th Jan 2018 by the Trust.

The Trust has decided to start the work on RajaGopuram by this year end (2024). Expected to be completed by 2026

 Worship of the Kuladeivam or Kul-devata or kul-devi is considered to be of utmost importance. The Kul-devata is the guardian of the family, of the lineage. Ancestors of the family have worshipped the deity and there is a bond between the family and the deity. Hence such worship bears fruits early. Worship of the kuldevata is said to appease the deity who is the sole protector of the family.

Archana is a special, personal, abbreviated puja done by temple priests in which, the name, birth star and family lineage of a devotee are recited to invoke individual guidance and blessings.

(Chariots’ procession are conducted only on the selected date by the devotee and Prashadam will be sent by Post)

Temple cars are chariots used to carry representations of the god. The car is usually used on festival days called Ther Thiruvizha (தேர் திருவிழா), usually happens important auspicious  days, where many people gathered around the temple and pull the cart.

Kottur Arulmigu  Angalaparameswari Seva Trust

In January 2001, Kadakkam C Thirunavukkarasu Odayer and his family took the initiative to expand and maintain the temple., Kottur Arulmigu Angalaparameswari Seva Trust was formed for the purpose of expanding and maintaining the Temple.  Since then the temple has gone through major changes and in Aug 2002, the last Kumbhashakam was done.  The Board Trustee in their meeting held on 21st May 2016, has decided to do the Next Kubhavisagam in Oct 2017. A total Budget of Rs 141 Lkhs has been estimated.
